Terms of Service
1. The service
Rings (listed on the App Store as "Rings: Mutual Contacts") helps two people who meet in person discover the contacts they both know — a feature we call Crosscon — remember the people they meet, and communicate over end-to-end encrypted chat and calls. The service is provided by GAIIA PRODUCTIONS LLC-FZ.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple and are responsible for the device you use with Rings. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use the service. You can delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete Account.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use Rings to spam, harass, impersonate others, break the law, or attempt to disrupt the service. Use call transcription only where recording a call is lawful; Rings always shows the other person that recording is on. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these rules.
4. Objectionable content and abusive users
Rings has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not send or publish — in messages, photos, files, calls, your display name or your "About you" — content that is harassing, bullying, threatening, hateful or discriminatory, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, fraudulent (including spam and scams), that impersonates someone, that exploits or endangers minors, or that is otherwise illegal.
- Report. Open the "…" menu in a one-to-one chat, or a connected person's contact card, tap Report, choose a reason and describe what happened, including the messages involved. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, so we cannot read them ourselves; we review what you tell us together with the account information we hold.
- Block. Block anyone from the same menu, or together with a report. A block is enforced on our servers: the blocked person can no longer message or call you. You can undo it in Settings › Blocked Users.
- What we do. We review every report within 24 hours. We remove objectionable content from our servers wherever we can reach it, and we suspend or permanently remove the accounts responsible, without notice. We may report illegal content to the relevant authorities.
You can also report content or users by writing to privacy@gaiiafoundation.com.
5. Your content and data
Your contacts and messages remain yours, and you are responsible for what you send. How we handle data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
6. Availability and changes
The service is provided "as is", without warranties. We may change or discontinue features; material changes to these terms will be posted on this page.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use of the service.
